Under administrative direction of the Associate Director of the Office of Early Childhood, performs a variety of administrative functions, most of which are controversial and confidential in nature. Assists in the review and evaluation of proposed state and federal legislation; conducts research and drafts responses to various levels of government, private agencies, and/or general public. Assists with budget issues, staffing needs, headcount, grievances and discrimination complaints. Confers with management staff to resolve administrative and staffing resources problems. Coordinates day-to-day activities of the Office, performs administrative duties in the implementation and evaluation of internal policy and procedures. Monitors travel activity within the Office. Serves as a working supervisor to clerical support staff.
Minimum Requirements: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college, preferably with courses in public or business administration. Requires two years professional experience in a public or private organization.
