Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.
Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of experience. Master's Degree and 7 years of experience. Ph.D. and 4 years of experience. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
Candidate will serve as a project lead within the Networks and Automation Department Cybersecurity group. The ideal candidate will have experience with security issues surrounding industrial control systems, particularly Platform IT systems. Experience working with naval shipboard systems is a plus, and Naval Nuclear experience is additional value. The ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner will also enable the candidate to be successful.
Technical skills should include design and operation of routed networks, virtualization technologies (e.g. Vmware, VirtualBox) including building and securing Virtual Machines (VMs), conducting assessments in accordance with DISA STIGs and hardening systems against findings. Candidate should possess at least one DoD 8140.01 (formerly 8570) recognized certification (at least Network+ or Security+; also desire CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or CASP as an added plus).
eMASS experienced resource who has worked on Authority To Operate (ATO) packages.
Experience with NAVSEA packages, particularly Platform IT (PIT), is preferred.
Risk Management Framework (RMF) experience with NIST 800-53 controls familiarity and knowledge, to include evidence for compliance.
Experience writing POAMs in eMASS, including mitigation statements.
Resource with a CAC card would be ideal but is not mandatory.
