Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM's Tech Re-Entry program is looking for talented technical professionals who are looking to restart their technical careers after an absence from the workforce of 24 months or more. This paid apprenticeship will enable you to work on projects that match your expertise, interests, and abilities and could lead to full-time employment. During your IBM Tech Re-Entry apprenticeship program, you will have the opportunity to update your skills in a contemporary work environment. You will have access to the latest tools and technologies available and work alongside a multi-disciplinary teams to hone your expertise and deliver on client-critical solutions. You'll be able to experience the breadth of IBM resources while developing new skills and relationships.
Re-Entry hires participate in ~6 month apprenticeships to refresh skills and prepare for transition to full time opportunities. The experience provides personalized technical learning to update and gain additional skills; earning badges and credentials along the way.

An IBM Systems Worldwide Client Experience Center Project Manager is a client-facing position whose objective is to effectively provide project leadership to enable successful client experiences. Project Managers are responsible for planning, negotiating, organizing, and facilitating customized client engagement offerings including benchmarks and workshops in support of IBM Sellers and Business Partners’ pre-Sales opportunities and technical enablement. Project Managers interact directly with the IBM account team and business partners to identify key client requirements. They collaborate with Client Experience Center Architects, Subject Matter Experts and IT support teams to plan and deliver offerings that meet these requirements. Strong written and verbal communications skills are critical, as is the ability to work collaboratively with dispersed teams in the U.S. and across the world.
A candidate for this role must demonstrate sound business judgment and be able to function independently, as well as be comfortable with internal/external, high-level client exposure and interactions. To execute this role effectively, they must have a high degree of situational and emotional awareness and must demonstrate diplomacy / sensitivity for international and multicultural diversity. They must be professional, technically proficient, proactive, self-motivated, and flexible. Being a team player who is client-focused and able to operate effectively in an extremely fast paced/dynamic environment is a necessity.
In order to qualify for this apprenticeship, applicant must have been out of the work force for a minimum of 2 years
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, positive, and well organized
- Can work independently, but collaborates with strong teaming skills
- Intellectual curiosity for technology, and ability to understand and create technical content
- Speaks Fluent English
