Albertsons Safeway is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. The organization includes 2,230 stores, 27 distribution facilities and 19 manufacturing plants with over 250,000 employees across 34 states and the District of Columbia. The company is privately owned with supermarkets across the country that includes: Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Carrs, ACME, Jewel-Osco, Lucky, Shaw's, Star Market, Super Saver, United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos. The Supply Chain Department has an opening for an Accounting Coordinator.

This position is located in Tolleson, AZ Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Complete and distribute daily/weekly reports to include: Service level, gross profit, inventory turns, progress, and labor reports. Coordinate with expense payables clerk to ensure invoices are routed and approved for payment in a timely manner. Confirm ledger coding is correct. Assist Accounting Manager in period balance sheet reconciliation activity.

Create general ledger journal entries as needed. Complete freight system updates, financial accruals, and reports as needed to align with transportation backhaul activity. Oversee payroll clerk activity to provide for accurate wage payment and reporting each week. Review daily system reports to confirm system activity is being reflected accurately for financial reporting requirements.

Interact with buying team regarding weekly account activity Monitor all general ledger activity to confirm accuracy of postings and promptly respond to any changes deemed necessary. Complete ad/hoc reporting as requested by Accounting Manager. Update KPI dashboard for operational publication Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and/or equivalent work experience in Accounting preferably with the Company. Possess the ability to analyze, interpret and report financial data.

Must be multi-tasked, detail oriented, with the ability to delegate duties to subordinates. Possess supervisory skills and ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results. Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.

Basic computer skills and personal computer experience required, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Experience in Essbase, Lawson, and/or EXE a plus.
