Job Description: Solutions Architect

Solutions Architects are a critical part of theteam. They work closely with our sales team as their technical partners in all the phases of the sales process from evangelizing and demonstrating the technology to prospects, to defining and executing proof of concepts and answering any technical questions aroundour service and how it solves the clients big data problems. In addition they are also involved post-sales in supporting implementations and usage ofour productby our clients and play a big part in making the our service successful for our clients.

The most important criteria for joiningas a solutions architect are:

Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills and a good understanding of the sales and post sales processes

Strong grasp on JVM concepts and Java applications

Knowledge of full stack applications from the web tier, application tier and the database tier

Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, ETL concepts

Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, Google Compute etc.

Ability to write scripts and small program utilities to help during proof of concepts and implementation phases

Experience in defining and executing enterprise proof of concepts

We are also very interested in individuals who have a track record of finding creative solutions to unique problems, and who will thrive in challenging situations and are passionate about technology.

Responsibilities include:
Technical sales and evangelization

Running proof of concepts and making them successful

Helping clients in post sales implementations and supporting them through their use of the Qubole service

Sharing the learnings from the field with the rest of the team at Qubole for improvement of messaging, processes and product features

?Some technical skills that would be particularly useful:
Knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Pig and related big data technologies

Knowledge of Amazon Web Services specially EC2 and S3
