Duties & Responsibilities

MSC is searching for a Clinical Research Coordinator to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full time position with MSC and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland.

The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of Principal Investigators who define the overall objectives and scope of the research projects.

Provide support to research team members from study start through study closure.
Maintain clinical team calendar
Participate in internal clinical team meetings as well as external meetings with sponsors, sites, and other NIH teams/departments
Order and inventory clinical and office supplies
Assist with the preparation of regulatory documents and submission of documents to the IRB for both domestic and international studies
Assist with the development and tracking of study budgets for both domestic and international studies
Provide operational support through education, training and quality improvement initiatives and development and maintenance of SOPs.
Prepare for and coordinate site monitoring visits (SIV, interim, and COV) for all domestic protocols per the NIH SOP’s.
Develop or assist in the development of Corrective and Preventative Action Plans.
Perform internal audits of active protocols, generate reports on quality assurance findings regarding compliance and trends.
Monitor study enrollment goals and initiate strategies to promote enrollment and participant compliance. Develop recruitment tools as needed.
Develop educational materials for participants, NIH staff, and the community regarding current and future studies
Primarily oversee and perform participant recruitment and assist with screening participants, scheduling, and overseeing study visits in domestic studies
Function as the main point of contact for study participants
Prepare documents and create binders as needed for study visits
Perform tasks related to participant compensation for completed visits
Perform data entry into research databases, ensure data is complete and accurate
Assist with biospecimen sample collection, processing, shipping and storage as needed.
Flexibility to work hours outside normal working time due to study visits requirements including weekends and holidays

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Global Health or similar discipline.
Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
Minimum of two (2) years of research related experience.
NIH experience a plus, especially involving infectious diseases and/or vaccine research.
Highly motivated individual with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Skilled in written communications to prepare summaries, graphs, and other material for internal reports, manuscripts, protocols, etc.
