**Are you ready to make the transition out of retail and leave the weekend and evening hours behind? ** Are you ready to receive company benefits including, health insurance, PTO, and participation in a 401k? This 20-year-old Office Furniture Retailer is looking for someone who has experience in a retail setting, that is ready to transition into a sales role where they are ready to sharpen their skills. Although there is walk-in traffic that comes in to visit two 70,000 square foot showrooms of office furniture, there is also the chance to develop your telephone skills when reaching out to businesses who are expanding their current corporate locations, moving, renovating their space, or experiencing company growth. This is an opportunity to help customers and also utilize your outbound calling skills to drive traffic into two showroom locations. You will learn to utilize salesforce as a tool to keep yourself organized and how to utilize furniture quoting computer software.
Key Job Responsibilities include:
Working with walk-in, call-in, email in, or by appointment customers, by determining their needs to best show them solutions that fit their needs.
If it is determined that the scope of the job is above Sales Associate skill set and knowledge, a meeting is to be set up immediately with Sales Manager in order to determine the customer handoff (New or Existing) to the Sales Executive, Designer or Managing Partner if necessary.
Hand Off made to Acct Exec within 8 business hours if determined that job is outside of Sales Associate scope of knowledge. Inform the customer that you will provide a quote after meeting with the Sales Manager.
Provide written accurate Sales Orders to customers.
Understand and follow the workflow process.
Accurately complete all steps (information) in the process once your sale is made.
Partner with Sales Executives to meet / and or exceed monthly company goals
Continuously update knowledge of the company products, services, and policies.
Maintain the presentation of the sales floor.
Take ownership in the appearance of the showroom –Give Suggestions for furniture and placement. Share feedback from your customers. Place chairs back under desk and tables, return samples to origin place.
Introduce promotions to customers.
Follow up on stalled quotes and open sales orders.
Send “Thank You” Cards to customers after scheduled delivery/pick-up
Accurately update SalesForce (CRM computer system) for sales pipeline meetings.
Attend Company and staff meetings
Assist in answering phone calls if needed
Research and develop prospect lists via the internet, publications, social media, etc.
Growth initiatives as you gain experience:
Represent the company at Affiliation Meetings and Events
Chamber of Commerce / Economic Development Groups
Source new sales opportunities through networking, community involvement, lead follow up, cold-calls and emails.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm. Two retail locations in North (Cornelius) and South (Westinghouse Blvd.) Charlotte. We are hiring for both locations.
**Base Salary plus commission opportunity**
