Full Job Description
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in software engineering.
Experience designing Customer Service, Incident Management Tools, CRM/ERP, Supply Chain Management, or Billing systems.
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and/or a background in FCAPS/OSS or BSS systems.
7 years of experience in software engineering.
3 years of experience in analytics and automation.
Experience in operating telecom/service-provider networks.
Knowledge of the control, management and provisioning flow of telecommunication equipment.
Knowledge of SDN, and CI/CD software development.

As a Software System Architect in Google Fiber, you will make use of your knowledge of software engineering, business operations, and distributed system architecture to design a secure, scalable and flexible cloud-native OSS/BSS infrastructure to power a service-provider network that can efficiently and reliably ensure that our users stay connected with our suite of products and services.

Work with system architects, software engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to create and review business requirements, end-to-end engineering estimates and specifications, and system evolution roadmaps.
Take responsibility for make-vs-buy decisions for cross-cutting concerns and key system modules.
Provide input into proper resource and schedule management frameworks used by project stakeholders, technical program managers, and engineering managers.
Drive the engineering effort to deliver a seamless OSS/BSS/Infra for Google Access’s business and network operations.
Engage w/ relevant vendors, partners, and standardization bodies to advance the networking/telecommunication industry to the next level.
