Position Purpose

The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health, a non-profit organization representing CEPH-accredited graduate schools and programs of public health is seeking a front-end WordPress/PHP Developer. You will be joining a dedicated development team to deliver innovative software and services that empower our members.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

We are looking for a WordPress web developer who has the skill set to build WordPress sites from the ground up. The position will be leading design, development, and maintenance implementation of websites. The position is based in Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) experience building web applications using WordPress
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, developing custom themes and custom content types, creating custom plugins, implementing off-the-shelf plugins and upgrades
  • Advanced front-end programming skills with HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and JQUERY
  • Strong PHP, MySQL, and LAMP stack skills
  • Understanding of WordPress/website security best practices
  • Understanding of responsive design and mobile UX
  • Ability to interact with web service APIs, JSON, and XML feeds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and/or Salesforce is a plus
  • Previous agile and/or scrum teamwork experience is a plus

Salary dependent upon experience and qualifications.
