The Head of Real Estate and Facilities reports directly to the SVP of Corporate Affairs and is responsible for the Real Estate Strategy and Planning, Transaction Management, Lease Administration and other support including guidelines and data for project delivery for the Global Real Estate Portfolio. The role is also directly responsible for Integrated Facilities Management and of the corporate co-headquarters, research and development sites and remote/sales locations in the US and Canada (1.5MM SF). Additional duties include:
Lead the real estate team to set strategy and execute tactics aligned to the values and strategy of the firm
Directly responsible for annual capital projects ($3-10MM) to be delivered on time and under budget in the US and Canada
Responsible for directing and reporting about $100MM of Zero-Base Budgeting (ZBB) annually across the leases and rentals package globally
Responsible for continued operational savings and efficiency efforts annually
Responsible for global corporate real estate transactions, lease administration and audits, and developing and maintaining relevant process, metrics and reporting
Manage the Integrated Facilities Management relationship for the outsourced support of the US and Canada
Adhere to SOX and Corporate Finance policies and procedures
Support company culture and initiatives through annual goals
Drive real estate savings through strategic initiatives and special projects
Oversee all office transformations
Consult on operational issues for global office and warehouse sites
Provide additional support for owned plants for data and centralized reporting as needed
10 -15 years of real estate and facilities management experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or MBA preferred
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to lead and advise on business cases and financial models involving paybacks, NPV, cash vs P&L, discounts, etc.
Deep functional expertise and experience in strategic and tactical real estate planning, workplace strategy, transactions management, project management, lease administration as well as program management
Ability to lead and direct multiple outsourced vendors for solution execution and delivery
High intellectual ability, self-confidence, and strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal skills
Demonstrates analytical and creative experience necessary to address targeted messages to a variety of internal and external audiences
Ability to work across silos, create rapid alignment and not be afraid of ambiguity
Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience working under pressure and managing multiple projects at once, specifically flexibility and adaptability to unexpected changes
