Essential Functions
Consult and advise clients and prospective clients on investments and financial planning issues using their experience and knowledge base while applying discretion and judgement as appropriate to the specific situation.
Provide strategic advice across a variety of financial products and services (estate planning, tax planning, cash management, retirement planning, insurance coverage, investments)
Assess clients’ overall financial picture, understand their needs and develop a solid financial plan.
Guide clients towards a profitable and secure financial future
Cultivate and build trusted relationships.
Outside sales, generate new leads, network and find new client opportunities.
Keep abreast of new industry trends, tax law changes and market research to optimize financial consulting.
Oversee the course of the financial plan and update it, when necessary
Comply with all industry rules and regulations.
Develop relationships with attorneys, CPA’s and other professionals.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position, not eligible for overtime. Minimal hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
3-5 years of financial advisor experience
BS degree in Finance or related field
Current securities and insurance licenses or must be able to pass the necessary exams within 3-6 months of hire date (Series 7, 66; Illinois Life & Health)
Clean regulatory and compliance record
Proven experience as a financial advisor
Track record of successful financial guidance
Ability to analyze market data and to provide appropriate data-based advice.
Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply.
