Learning Objectives & Goals:
Expanded skillset in MS Office, communication methods and other tools
More in-depth knowledge of the role of the Total Rewards practice with focus on benefits
Opportunity to be involved in special projects
Responsibilities / Duties: Please describe the type of work that the student will perform during the internship.
Provide support to Health & Welfare Manager in the areas of cost analysis and modeling, compliance, plan design, new programs and acquisition integration.
Cost modeling to support collective bargaining negotiations, projects and initiatives.
Obtain census data and create benefit comparisons for newly acquired groups to support integration.
Creation and maintenance of Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions and other required documents and disclosures for all H&W benefit plans.
Accurate and timely preparation of required government filings such as 5500s. Includes coordination with vendors regarding required schedules and documents needed to support filings.
Support the Equifax accurate and timely preparation of required Affordable Care Act filings such as forms 1095 and 1094.
Assist in leading the strategy surrounding wellness, open enrollment processes and other benefit related communication materials.
Participate in other Human Resources/Total Rewards related projects as needed
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Desired degree: MBA, Human Resources or related field
Strong proficiency in MS Office – advanced Excel skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations appropriately
