We are seeking a skilled and passionate Full-Time or Part-Time Cook to join our team at the Graystone Manor Altoona. We are located on the second floor of the Grand Palazzo building on 8th avenue in Altoona, PA.
The typical shifts for this position are 6:00am-2:30pm and 11:30am-8:00pm.
Applicant must be willing and able to work BOTH shifts.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in culinary arts and a deep commitment to providing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of our residents through your culinary expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook well-balanced and nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and residents’ preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with the dietary team to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
- Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage kitchen supplies within budgetary constraints
- Follow proper portion control and minimize food waste
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate various dietary needs
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Flexibility with schedule, Must work every other weekend and rotating holidays
- Preferably have 1 year or more of cooking experience

Full-Time positions are eligible for Healthcare at NO COST to the employee at the 90 day employment mark.
