What does a fantastic Event Planner do?

Are you the wordsmith type hyper-focused on attention to detail? Are you known for hosting/throwing events of the year?

We attend more than a dozen industry conferences, most held by publishers, and have a need for someone to manage the events from start to finish. The events range in size, anywhere from 1000-4000 attendees; you will be responsible for venue identification, collaborating with installers, budget tracking, invoicing, designing, and everything in between. Ensuring a successful event is about 50% of this role the other half is managing the Public Relations side. You will also craft dynamic press releases that captures the audience's attention and highlight our products and offerings in a way that excel our brand. You will deliver news and meaningful events in a clear and impactful way that demonstrates your ability to communicate effectively. You will directly impact the organization by driving communcations to our clients and presenting Sagent as an industry leader of technology and service professionals across North America but we need new team members who can help us realize our vision to lending better for everyone.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Develop press releases, and manage agenda of PR efforts
Work closely with internal spokespeople to coordinate responses to press inquiries.
Identify, design, and implement external communication programs to promote key areas of business, research reports, specific areas of expertise, and other initiatives through media outlets and industry conferences.
Collaborate with event organizers to secure speaking roles for company SMEs at industry events.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with media partners.
Evaluate industry event invitations, award programs, and sponsorship opportunities to determine whether additive to business priorities.
Coordinate all activities and planning for trade conferences and meetings.
Assist in the selection of marketing and promotional materials.

Requirements for Consideration:
3 years' experience in public relations or communications role
Prior experience planning/coordinating large scale events
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Experience working under strict deadlines

Preferred Requirements for Consideration:
BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a public relations and/or communications role
Understanding of or interest in learning about the financial technology industry
Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics Marketing & CRM applications
PR agency Experience
Travel Required: Percentage/frequency of travel: 20%
