CHEERS! Are you ready to part of the alcohol/beverage industry as a Category Development Manager?
You will work closely with your sales counter-part to leverage syndicated, POS data and insights in order to develop powerful selling stories and analytics that drive DFWS portfolio expansion, increase share of retailer items/shelf and increase the measurable quality of brand programming in our off-premise chains.
You provide critical support to and influence the account management process. Through your vision, thought leadership, and analytical expertise, you directly support the Account Director and the Category Development Team in developing consumer and customer focused strategies, tactics, and category grounded solutions.
What Will You Do?
Serve as first point of contact for all questions related to Kroger and Walgreens share performance - requires regular communication and collaboration with Senior Account Director and Kroger NAM.
Develop powerful selling stories that drive DFWS portfolio expansion, increase share of retailer items/shelf and increase the measurable quality of brand programming in our off premise chains.
Leverage data from multiple sources to create impactful analytics and selling stories to identify risk, opportunity, and performance gaps
Monitor IRI/Nielsen and retailer POS reports; understand performance drivers, identify relevant insights, and make actionable recommendations
Monitor competitive set and identify new threats or opportunities; identify key distribution, feature and display voids
Customize national sales stories and sell sheets to meet chain specific needs
Conduct deep analytics beyond canned data tools and able to integrate multiple data sources into presentations including Nielsen/IRI, Spectra/demographics, panel, customer card/POS data and other syndicated sources
Work with Account Director to create annual account plan to include programming, innovation, distribution goals that achieve DFWS targets
Attend retailer account calls focused on annual planning, innovation and distribution pitches, and quarterly programming meetings
Drive alignment on goals and priorities regionally with RCM’s to ensure regional team owns local execution of national chain programs
Help in the preparation of annual retailer Top to Tops with targeted chain account
Quarterly Market Visits to key account regions
Develop relationships with distributor Category Management counterparts
Who Are You?
You have 5-10 years’ category management experience in CPG or syndicated research industry (IRI/ACN).
Experience working with multiple retail environments, preferred.
Experience in the beverage alcohol category, highly desirable.
Expert Excel and PowerPoint Skills; must be competent in managing large data sets.
Experience in sales planning and forecasting.
Experience with retailer data systems; Market6 specifically preferred.
Creative thinker with the ability to tell a story with data.
Able to develop and manage scope, timeline, work plan and deliverables for projects; manage incoming project requests and maintain project queue.
Able to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high demand environment.
Self-sufficient and highly detailed oriented.
Strong negotiating and sales skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively interface at all levels within the DFWS organization, accounts and distributor network.
Strong presentation skills.
You have a Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred.
Are willing to travel 25% of the time.
