Job Description

The Associate Art Director is responsible for the creative efforts supporting all on-figure photography in studio as well as elevated product lay downs. This position will help support casting and art direction that supports compelling, brand-right photography. The Associate Art Director will help expand the content for the website by concept development, onset art direction, and post-production for eComm, still life, editorial photo shoots, and digital content creation in the form of requests (PRF). The successful candidate must possess strong creative and strategic thinking skills, is analytical and highly organized, and can deliver high-quality assets in a quick timeframe.

What Will You Be Doing?

Translate creative strategies to Hollister Studio set while ensuring key product details and attributes are captured across all shoots
Art Direct on-figure e-commerce photoshoots, as well as still life and PRF photoshoots, on an ongoing basis
Partner with ACD, Art Director, Photo Studio Manager, Lead Stylist, Sample Coordinator, and external vendors to and execute against style guides & creative briefs.
Ensure all photography aligns with brand guidelines and photography style guides.
Lead team of freelancers and onset talent
Establish and build relationships with freelancers
Partner with on-set talent—including models, photographer, stylists, hair and makeup-to make sure they understand the brief and that their work meets brand standards
Partner with lead stylist on final image selection
Manage image selection and post-production processes. Work with Lead Art Director and retouchers to provide retouching and editing notes, and ensure overall look and feel remains on-brand and files are delivered to specification
Monitor industry creative best practices/trends and maintain a competitive library of images/swipe
Step in when needed to photograph and run set
What Do You Need to Bring?

Bachelor’s degree in Photography or related field required
2-4 years of experience in art direction or related field
Detail-oriented with strong time management and organization abilities
A strong sense of curiosity and desire to learn
An understanding of how to direct and put talent at ease
Excellent time management skills which will allow for balancing workload as well as creating a low stress, highly productive on-set environment
Strong ability to build open, collaborative relationships with both internal and freelance creative and production teams
Ability to manage multiple projects from concept through completion within a deadline driven environment
Sophisticated understanding of the unique challenges of apparel photography
Leads set with confidence and a respectful approach
Encourages collaboration with photographer and sets team up for success
Experience in Capture One Workflow
