The Director of Human Resources performs professional work in a time sensitive and changing environment in the management of key business operations including labor relations, payroll, risk management, performance management and improvement systems, employee orientation, compensation and benefits administration, employee safety, welfare, wellness and health. The ideal candidate originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide a high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director of Human Resources coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; Reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and serves on the business management team; and assist and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
Lead and Support the HR Staff as a subject matter expert, providing clear and concise direction and oversight of the company employee relations matters including investigative processes, employee hotline, employee complaints and resolution, corrective actions and training.
You will promote employee appreciation and recognition programs and practices, Oversee exit interview process, performance review, and partner with and follow up with Ops teams to providing suggestions for improvement.
Supervised company event planning, create and maintain HR policies and Employee handbook, job descriptions, and performance review processes.
·Ideal candidate should have knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations and their administration and application.
·Expertise in education and administration of FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADA, and other associated programs.
·Proficiency in design and administration of Compensation and Benefit programs, 401k, and Deferred Compensation.
·Expertise in policy development, implementation and administration.
· Ability to communicate effectively and influence all levels within the organization.
· Preference for working in a fast paced environment with multiple competing demands with a strong sense of urgency.
· Self starter with a strong results orientation.
·Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
·Overnight travel approximately 10-20% annually.
· Ability to maintain valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for field support on a regular basis.
·Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
Required Education & Experience
3-5 years experience leading HR functions in a multi site environment.
Experience in restaurant, or retail
Bachelor's degree- preferably in Human Resources or Business; Masters Degree and/or SPHR certification preferred
Demonstrated leadership by managing others in a direct reporting relationship
Experience leading/supporting an organization with 5,000-10,000 employees in multiple remote sites strongly preferred
