The Hershey Company Reese plant is a Non-Union plant producing products such as Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups & Kit Kat, in a high-speed complex environment.

With little supervision, provide electrical services for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plant electrical systems including equipment trouble-shooting, power distribution, motor control, and network/data security required for the support of all plant operations.

Provide technical support to make sure that all the lines and plant processes are operational is the key responsibility.

Assist Reese Engineering & Safety with equipment inspections to ensure proper labeling and functioning of safety equipment and protective gear, verifying compliance with relevant regulations and taking corrective action as required.

Coordinate activities with internal disciplines and external contractors for the completion and start-up of non-routine PMs and capital projects. The specialist must ensure that all work is performed in accordance with established guidelines and regulations for safety, GMP’s and sanitation, including conformance to Federal, State and local Electrical Codes.

Provide electrical trouble-shooting support to ensure that all operating systems and lines are fully functional and reliable. Work closely with the plant electricians, mechanics, and engineers, responding quickly when downtime occurs. Help ensure that the electrical planner is scheduling work that is critical and can be completed during the downtime given.
Direct the activities of plant electricians and outside contractors to accomplish non-routine PM work and work associated with capital projects. Obtain quotes and purchase parts as required. Ensure that all electrical drawings are accurate and updated accordingly.
Assist with electrical safety and machine guarding, ensuring compliance with corporate and governmental regulations.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

Knowledge of electrical engineering practices and application.
Knowledge of computer/PLC applications related to food processing.
Knowledge of OSHA’s NFPA 70E and other government electrical regulations.
Knowledge of Electrical “Safety Work Procedures.”
Ability to effectively communicate technical data to non-technical personnel.
Ability to plan and perform work with minimal direction and supervision.
Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate the activities of contractors, vendors, and plant electricians.
Ability to plan and execute multiple priorities while being flexible and adaptive to change.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop drawings and building equipment specifications.
Flexibility to work as required in evenings, weekends, and during plant shutdowns.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Technical degree preferred


Minimum 2 years relevant experience required
Experience in food processing environment preferred
