We are seeking a Senior Advisor to help us refine and implement strategies and plans aligned with our three envisioned futures.

As a Senior Advisor, you will assist the National Health Mission Area (NH MA) executive and senior leadership team in refining and implementing strategies and plans aligned with our three envisioned futures: Global Health Security, Predictive Health and Assured Care.

You will be responsible for leading development of a strategy and business plan for engaging with industry, foundations and other non-traditional sponsors. Your specific responsibilities will include:

Defining a framework for decision-making
Identifying APL expertise and capabilities that align with the NH MA strategy
Engaging technical staff and program managers within APL to develop proposals for engagements
Leading sponsor engagement activities to identify those opportunities for partnerships that support sponsor goals and APL strategic priorities
Overseeing and directing funded activities

You will also be providing input and expertise in support of the NH MA, Asymmetric Operations Sector, and APL Senior Leaders in discussing and sharing perspectives on health, healthcare delivery, medical and other biology-related topics and associated technology trends. You will be asked to engage on various strategic topics including:

Providing a health-economic context, layout market priorities and assist with development of related APL priorities that complement industry priorities.
Supporting efforts to establish and mature a biological threat focused program, including threats to national security posed by the exploitation of both naturally occurring events and manmade technology.
Engaging in efforts focused on baseline health and wellness as a national security priority, food and water security as a global health security priority, priorities for predictive analytics on an individual and population basis and next generation care delivery including telehealth and all the novel data collection tools to facilitate the health care paradigm of the future.

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you:
Are a medical doctor or have a doctorate level degree in an engineering, medical, biology or public health related field.
Have at least 20 years leadership experience in the private sector or working with foundations.
Have demonstrated the ability to forge partnerships across different types of organizations such as industry, government and academia.
Are a strategic thinker with an ability to translate strategy into plans of action and see them through to execution.
Are able to demonstrate the capability to connect health and medical needs to appropriate technical or technology solutions.

You would go beyond the minimum requirements if you:
Hold an active Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
