Job description
The postdoctoral fellow will join Dr. Singh’s lab in the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Houston (https://uh.edu/pharmacy/directory-home/pps-faculty/ravi-singh). The lab research focuses on identifying mechanisms promoting muscle function for healthy living and the benefits of exercise training. Specifically, we are investigating the regulation and functional consequences of alternative splicing in muscle development, disease, and aging. Our research uses state-of-the-art techniques (RNA-seq, Mass spectrometry, CRISPR, etc.), tissue culture, and genetically modified mice.

Job Duties
- The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for lab projects and expected to conduct experimental design and execution independently.
- Collection and organization of data for manuscripts and funding applications.
- Unbiased interpretation of experimental data for presentations, including lab meetings and national and international scientific meetings.
- Supervision of students and junior lab members.
- Contribute to ordering and maintaining lab supplies for smooth laboratory operation.
- Collaborate with others in the department or Texas Medical Centers to advance projects for which lab expertise is not optimal.
- Laboratory mice colony management for maintenance and experimentation in a timely fashion.
- Ability to work in a team is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in a Biological Sciences or related field.
Lab organization skills, commitment to teamwork, and enthusiasm for science.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
