The Customer Marketing Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, will be a critical member of a team responsible for developing and launching effective strategies to improve customer engagement & satisfaction, increase brand love, and reduce churn. He/she will lead strategic, cross-channel marketing efforts, collaborating closely with the rest of our marketing, brand, design, analytics, business development and product teams. This individual should have prior experience managing owned marketing channels (email, in-app, SMS notifications, etc.), with a deep understanding of key levers to influence customer behavior and move important metrics. Someone who brings strategic thought leadership, operational excellence, segmentation marketing experience, creativity and collaboration will find an exciting opportunity for professional development in this role!

Location: Irvine, CA or New York, NY

Within 1 month, you will:
  • Embrace our mission to look after the financial best interests of the up-and-coming
  • Understand our product, brand guidelines and messaging architecture
  • Integrate within your immediate team and get to know the broader organization
  • Dive into the current marketing strategy, channels, metrics and process
  • Begin to manage day-to-day marketing operations alongside the rest of the marketing and brand teams
Within 6 months, you will:
  • In collaboration with leadership, deliver insights-driven, strategic recommendations to improve key metrics across the customer lifecycle (engagement, satisfaction, retention, advocacy, etc.)
  • Define a test-and-learn roadmap in partnership with our Growth team, outlining a methodical plan for experimentation across key marketing levers (creative, messaging, offers, etc.)
  • Propose new ideas to optimize segmentation and targeting efforts
  • Set measurable goals around marketing strategy and processes, along with day-to-day operations
  • Present campaign results, learnings and next steps to key stakeholders across the broader organization
  • Work with the brand design and product teams to advance marketing initiatives in and out-of-product
Within 12 months, you will:
  • Co-present annual marketing strategy in coordination with other marketing stakeholders across the organization
  • Support improvements in processes, engagement, awareness and sentiment
  • Meed/exceed your goals and execute winning ideas to drive brand, engagement/retention and acquisition objectives
  • Work closely with the product and analytics teams to ensure marketing is targeted and we are delivering a frictionless, highly engaging, full-funnel customer experience
What you will bring to Acorns:
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of performance-driven marketing experience, preferably in mobile
  • You're a results-oriented & data-driven marketer, balanced with a passion for the customer experience
  • You have a strong eye for creative design, as well as solid copywriting skills
  • Expertise in managing targeted and automated email campaigns is a must; Experience with push notifications and in-app messages a plus
  • You're a curious, positive and highly-motivated self-starter
  • You're a quick learner and adaptable as priorities shift over time
  • You're highly collaborative and can communicate your ideas clearly & effectively to all levels of the organization
  • You care about helping people and are passionate about our mission
  • Experience working in an agile marketing environment with prior start-up experience preferred
