Job Summary
The Engineer - IT (Network Security Administrator) supports the availability of Lidl US systems and data. The role functions in a fast-paced environment and acts as a trusted resource for internal departments regarding service uptime and stability. The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the network security, threat mitigation, and remediation of the global organization. In addition, the individual ensures the business systems operation by ensuring clear access control and monitoring guidelines. The Engineer position is an extension of a larger team located in Germany.

Essential Functions
Install, configure, administer and monitor firewall and intrusion-prevention, web proxy and remore-access systems as well as e-mail gateways
Design, implement and manage the network security policy
Identify vulnerabilities and ways to counteract them
Follow business-wide operating standards
Provide recommendations on architecture and set-up
Identify infrastructure needs and implement optimizations
Offer 3rd level support for network security topics
Perform all other duties as assigned
Required
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Deep understanding of networks protocals like TCP/IP
Knowledge of Checkpoint firewall, Fortinet firewall, Cisco ASA with AnyConnect, McAfee Web Gateway or other web proxy products
Knowledge of Cisco routers (ISR) and switches (Catalyst)
Knowledge of tools like Wireshark, Cisco ESA (IronPort) or Citrix NetScaler
Deep understanding of IT-security concepts
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong technical documentation skills

Required Education, Certifications/Licenses, Related Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field
3 - 5 years of experience in related field
In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Certifications in Checkpoint firewall, Fortinet firewall or McAfee Web Gateware
Experience in hardware set-up and cabling

Preferred Education, Certifications/Licenses, Related Experience

2 - 4 years of experience administering operating systems and/or network devices

Physical Job Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, including the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly
Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 30lbs.
Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists
Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time

Travel Requirements

This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time.
This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time.
This position requires overnight international travel less than 25% of the time.
Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
