Electrical Engineer/Master Electrician (MIS000001)
Engineer serves as master electrician providing electrical engineering project management expertise in managing major facility recapitalization and building renovation projects. The incumbent will:
Review engineering drawings for any changes to the government’s facilities
Manage and coordinate operations, maintenance, repair, and inspections of all equipment and mechanical rooms; coordinate maintenance, repair, and engineering for the vertical transportation systems.
Direct and coordinate activities with the trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment
Oversee and coordinate electrical work orders, service orders, and projects
Develop cost estimates, documents, and reports. Serve as essential personnel in the event of an emergency.
Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assisting with the development and review of medium-to-high voltage system testing plans, long range power management and electrical system configuration management
Reviewing electrical load distribution and shedding plans
Conducting quality assurance reviews of on-site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contractor on behalf of the government.
Coordinating activities with architecture, engineering, real estate, construction, and space planning efforts, and all customers.
Coordinating operations, maintenance, repair, inspections for all equipment and mechanical rooms.
Coordinating fire drills.
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university; registration preferred.
U.S. Citizenship with valid, current State Driver’s License and U.S. Passport.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a master electrician in the following:
Designing and managing critical generator plants, parallel switchgear, ATS, UPS, grounding systems.
Designing and maintaining tier 3 data center electrical systems - distribution, back-up systems, grounding, and harmonics.
Conducting electrical maintenance - best practices, anomaly identification and resolution processes.
Provide project management expertise to manage major recapitalization (recap) projects and building renovation projects.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a master electrician in the following disciplines:
Construction project management.
Specification writing and shop drawing review.
Cost estimating, documents, and reports.
Surveying and preparing design packages for new and existing electrical systems.
Using Building Management Systems and AutoCAD.
Managing major building renovations and recap projects.
Conducting reviews of engineering drawings.

Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Software, and a PC (Windows based).

All applicants must undergo successful occupational testing to include an aptitude test, writing test, personality inventory, and interview.
Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.
