Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker plays an essential role and is required to perform upkeep tasks such as inspecting and maintaining warehouse facilities, equipment, and machinery. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The maintenance worker must also perform routine repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations as well as company policies. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle minor fixes, like repairing broken locks or filling gaps on walls.
- Install appliances and equipment. Must be able to read manuals and understand equipment and controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance on building equipment including inspection, cleaning, adjustments, repairs, etc.
- Keep accurate records of preventive maintenance and all other work performed.
- Use appropriate power and hand tools.
- Demonstrate professionalism, quality work, dependability, and initiative.
- Check the functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarms).
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with vendors (HVAC, refrigeration, electrical).
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience in a similar position.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve operational challenges and implement process improvements.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse environment.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of experience required.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and Walking: The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods to navigate the warehouse floor and move between different areas of the facility.
- Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, packages, and materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Some tasks may involve bending, stooping, and reaching to access products, shelves, and storage areas.
- Climbing: Depending on the warehouse layout, it may be required to climb ladders, stairs, or platforms to perform specific tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Should be mindful of safety procedures and have a strong awareness of potential hazards in the warehouse environment.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
