This role assumes full responsibility for procuring, planning, coordinating/administering projects and working with the Managing Directors as a “seller-doer.” Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing and potential clients;
Attending interviews and helping secure work for the office;
Writing proposals and contracts including creating work-plans/scopes of work for potential projects including creating the team, fees and schedules;
Managing a variety project sizes/types to completion, including coordinating work performed internally and externally by other consultants ensuring compliance with the design concept;
Establishing and managing the project team, budget, and schedule to ensure meeting agreed upon milestones/deadlines, and timely completion of the project;
Working with the project team to shape and understand the design concepts based on ;
With the design team, presenting design concepts/development and coordinating all aspects of project delivery including client approval, coordination with all consultants, general contractors, furniture vendors, and developers, brokers, and broker project managers;
As required, coordinating internally to deliver project work across geographies including involvement of our internal service lines – environmental graphics, lighting and workplace strategy;
Monitor and adjust the base contract accordingly based on client requested additional services;
Establishes and ensures adherence to set budget and project schedule;
Manages profitability, invoices and collections for assigned projects informing the Managing Director(s) and Finance Manager of any issues with accounts receivable including securing payment;
Tracking staffing including coordination with other Project/Design Managers to assign tasks, oversee productivity and work product and provide feedback/mentoring to staff assigned your projects;
Managing the client relationship from inception for the duration of the project resulting in additional business or referred work.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited architecture design;
5+ years of experience producing design projects.
Licensure and/or accreditation in your discipline – AIA, NCARB, NCIDQ, LEED, Well, etc.
Preference for Interior Architecture (Corporate) focus, but not required;
A proven history of robust client relationship skills, leadership, and design/delivery management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of materials and construction methods related to interior architecture;
Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA/TAS requirements;
Proven ability to write and negotiate contracts for design and delivery services and consultants;
Proven ability to solve contract and administration issues within the established project context;
Intermediate to Expert MS Office Suite skills;
Intermediate to Expert Revit skills;
Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite skills;
Advanced verbal and written communication skills;
Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills;
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff including continual mentorship and leadership through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise.
For the majority of the time the Project Manager will be working in our offices with some travel, depending on the client needs/requests. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist and reach. On occasion individuals will be required to visit a client site to perform field verifications surveys. The position is not subject to occupational and safety risks.
