Supports the consistent and high-quality performance of landscape maintenance tasks performed by multiple crews within assigned Area. Conducts irrigation repair and maintenance; and performs and oversees minor Enhancement projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform landscape maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: mowing, edging, blowing, bed grooming, pruning, fertilizing and leaf pick up
  • Routinely monitor sites for quality, and follow up with crews on performance improvements. Communicate continuing concerns to Area Manager
  • Conduct and oversee execution of minor Enhancement projects performed at the crew level
  • Perform irrigation maintenance and repair tasks as needed, including spring evaluations and start-ups; winterization and blow-outs; and controller monitoring and adjusting
  • Encourage proper use, care and storage of company inventory, including vehicles, equipment and tools
  • Demonstrate proper pruning techniques while taking into account the plant material and season
  • Understand fertilization basics for both turf and plants
  • Working knowledge of herbicide applications and relevant practices
  • Have a general understanding of annuals installation and maintenance
  • Assess equipment operation issues and effectively communicate repair needs to shop personnel
  • Provide training for new employees utilizing Company training resources
  • Assist Area Manager in on-going training for existing employees
  • Assess skill level and work behavior of employees and provide recommendations to Area Manager regarding professional development, performance evaluation and promotional opportunities
  • Encourage and maintain safe working conditions by promoting Company’s “Culture of Safety”, including but not limited to reinforcing bi-weekly safety tailgate meetings and ensuring proper personal protective equipment usage
  • Regular, on-time attendance
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but will work on multiple crews, overseeing work performed
  • Problem resolution
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between employees
  • Provide translation for employees as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
  • High school diploma, GED or at least 5 years related work experience
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
  • As required by state and federal law
  • Valid, insurable driver license issued by the state where employed
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License, or ability to obtain within 1 year
