The role of the Data Scientist is to lead client engagement teams in the design, development, deployment and maintenance of the data layer and environment and, work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services, and manage business development activities.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Experience with relational database, data warehouse (dimensions/facts) and operational data store design concepts
Knowledge of business intelligence solutions/applications
Experience with SQL, T-SQL or PL SQL with ability to write queries of moderate complexity
Working knowledge with MS Access and, MS SQL and/or Oracle Server
Minimal experience in database administration (example, creating tables)
A successful candidate will deliver results through:
Business requirements gathering: Ability to understand and capture business problems.
Developing SQL scripts to extract, transform and load data.
Supporting existing application and applying incremental improvements.
Your key responsibilities
Foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Consistently deliver quality client services. Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.
Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to assimilate new knowledge. Possess good business acumen. Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.
Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment. Play an active role in counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization.
Cultivate and manage business development opportunities. Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.
To qualify for the role you must have
A bachelor's degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience. Degree emphasis in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Information Technology or Engineering; MBA or relevant Graduate degree preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
A willingness to travel to meet client needs and a valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance or higher, which will be driven by the engagement requirement; Active DoD Clearance is Preferred
Proximity to the Washington D.C. Metro area
