```Job Description```
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Durable Medical Equipment Biller to join our team. As a Medical Equipment Biller/CSR, you will be responsible for accurately billing medical medical equipment and/or medical supplies. Your role will be crucial in ensuring timely reimbursement and maintaining accurate patient records. Billing experience preferred but not required. We are willing to train someone who has critical thinking and problem solving skills who is looking to start a new career.
REQUREMENTS: ABILITY TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREENING.
```Responsibilities:```
- Review and analyze medical records to determine appropriate coding for medical equipment and ensure all required documents are obtained to meet insurance guidelines.
- Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using HCPC and ICD-10 coding systems
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Follow up on claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues and obtain required documentation
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Update patient accounts with insurance information, payments, and adjustments
- Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for patients
- Answering phone calls from patients and physician's offices throughout the day.
```Skills:```
- Proficient in medical billing, including knowledge of HCPC and ICD-10 coding
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes and procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience operating and answering a multiline telephone
- Ability to effectively communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
Hours: Monday -Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION AND DEPENDABILITY REQUIRED. THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION. APPLICANTS SEEKING REMOTE POSITION WILL NOT BE CONCIDERED.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
