The Staff Assistant 2, under limited supervision performs a variety of administrative support functions including or all of the following:
Create and edit forms, presentations and documents using word processing, database, spreadsheet or similar programs.
Collect data and develop /generate reports to support department functions.
Schedule patients and visitors for various department services including tests and procedures.
Assist manager with budget creation and administration.
Coordinate meetings as directed including location, participants, agenda and minutes.
May analyze data related to reimbursements, charges, accounts, etc.
Perform other administrative duties to support programs or departments such as transcription, scheduling, auditing, department software maintenance, preparation of invoices, check requests, travel requests, time card processing, etc.
Education: High school education with 1 year of clerical and computer applications training - or equivalent experience is required. Associates degree in office sciences, business or related area is preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years progressive clerical experience is required. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint and experience coordinating projects also required. Experience using In-Focus projectors is preferred. May require successful completion of medical terminology course. Depending on department, may require BLS instructor certification within six months of hire.
Unit Specific Experience within the 3-5 years of required experience:
Outpatient clinic billing processes including charge capture, billing, CPT and ICD coding (Diabetes Care TRMC, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pallative Care)
1-3 years experience in a pharmacy environment (Pharmacy)
Depending upon the department - may require successful completion of medical terminology course and/or BLS Instructor certification within six months of hire.
License/Certification: Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance may be required.
