This partner will lead a team within the Indirect Supply Chain Sourcing team to support global operations. The group leads sourcing initiatives for stakeholders at all Starbucks manufacturing and distribution locations for capital equipment, supplies, material handling equipment, packaging, MRO, and other services.
As a Senior Sourcing Group Manager, you will…
Model leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.
Drives the engagement, development and performance of all members of their team.
Ensures each partner has job clarity, including guiding partners in crafting meaningful goals that move work forward and enhance growth and development. Regularly engages in purposeful development discussions that generate insight and drive performance. Develops talent for the organization and is an advocate for partners seeking growth opportunities. Develop team to enable consistent achievement of goals. Celebrate success and address performance gaps knowing that partners can always improve. Effectively leading partner onboarding, including tactically train on key sourcing skills and how to approach sourcing through the lens of Starbucks values.
Lead and manage team to deliver best in class sourcing foundations and strategy execution to support the implementation of company programs and organizational strategic plans. Establish goals for the team, develop organizational capability, and models behaviors aligned to company values on how results should be achieved.
Successfully motivate and collaborate within their team and across their peer group, and director level and above.
Lead using demonstrated and proven experience and the application of best practice sourcing skills. Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
Builds effective and diverse teams: Provides direction, empowers, challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results. Leads effective staffing decisions to include succession planning, diverse and inclusive hiring decisions, disciplinary actions, performance management, recognition and rewards.
Develop strategic and operational plans for the team, managing execution, measuring results, and holding partners accountable. Assist director in establishing measurable and strategic goals to enable bottom-line and top-line company growth, and corporate social responsibility leadership.
Prepares, communicates and aligns stakeholders and team on changes in strategy, policies, and practices within the organization.
Plans and manages business unit and organizational processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.

Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or other related fields preferred.
Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified): 8+ years sourcing experience preferred.

Sourcing Foundations: Expert knowledge of procurement processes such as category sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, risk management, and key legal terms, RFXs, market analysis, ‘should-cost’ models, and standard legal protections (i.e. confidentiality agreements). Helps other sourcing partners succeed through knowledge sharing of key sourcing foundations.
Problem Solving: Strong acumen for coping with different business situations in a professional manner via obtaining essential information, focus on key objectives, recognize options available for solving problems, selecting the right approach to overcome obstacles, and set plans in motion to achieve execution.
Teamwork: Effectively influences across peer groups and all management levels on complex strategy and demonstrates leadership.
Project Management: Strong acumen for coping with different business situations in a professional manner via obtaining essential information, focus on key objectives, recognize options available for solving problems, selecting the right approach to overcome obstacles, and set plans in motion to achieve execution.
Emotional Intelligence & Influence: Ability to lead in an ambiguous environment and agile response to change. Demonstrate effective influencing skills via the ability to flex your style depending on strategy and stakeholder. Ability to effectively use different types of influencing styles.
Communications & Business Acumen: Ability to prepare clear and concise verbal, written, and visual presentations effectively utilizing storytelling techniques and ability to clearly communicate written and verbally to cross-functional stakeholders & senior management to align and implement strategy. Proactive communication to management.
Intellectual Curiosity: Proactively identifies and engages in opportunities to expand knowledge via external benchmarking, external resources, further education (certificates), learning more about the broader business, attending conferences, etc. Applying learnings and shares learnings broadly with peers.
