This highly visible position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world. The Shipping / Receiving Supervisor will provide Operations support by managing the shipping and receiving process. This position will also perform supervisory direction to hourly staff in the shipping/receiving department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Promote a safe work environment. Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Ensure verification of shipping transactions to meet the required production and inventory schedule.
Manage inbound and outbound material movement. Consolidate shipments when feasible.
Conduct ongoing logistical and/or labor analysis to lower operating costs, and identify and execute improvements.
Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of product.
Understand the inventory transactions in the Manufacturing and Customer Order Management modules work. Assist in troubleshooting as necessary.
Maintain regular communication with internal customers, such as Customer Service, Materials and Trade Compliance.
Contact carriers and scheduling pick-ups and obtain carrier rate quotes.
Make arrangements for special packaging and/or shipping instruction as specified by customers.
Lead continuous improvement projects in the organization. Promote participation in continuous improvement projects amongst team.
Supervise shipping/receiving personnel. This involves:
Provide daily direction and support
Shift resources as necessary to support workload
Provide performance reviews
Education and Experience
BS/BA degree preferred.
Supervisory / leadership experience required.
2+ years experience in supply chain, logistics or production required.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and/or import regulations a plus.
Ability to problem-solve and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
