TARGETING ANALYST - 1N8X1
This job requires military service in the Air Force Reserve.
Position Summary
It takes an eye for detail to keep our operations in the sky and on the ground on track. It’s the role of our Targeting Analysts to develop and implement tactical strikes for anything that poses a threat. They analyze structures and terrain to make strike recommendations and perform combat assessments for commanding officers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support multi-domain mission planning.
- Conduct threat vulnerability assessments.
- Utilize targeting intelligence to analyze potential threats.
- Conduct combat assessments.

- Non-prior Service enlistment bonus of up to $15,000 with a six-year contract and paid incrementally over six years (dependent on member meeting all eligibility requirements based on IAW Air Force policy and law)
- Prior Service bonus of up to $15,000 for six-year enlistment paid over six years or $7,500 for a three-year contract paid over three years (dependent on member meeting all eligibility requirements based on IAW Air Force policy and law)
- Reenlistment bonus of up to $7,500 with a three-year contract paid upfront/lump sum (dependent on member meeting all eligibility requirements based on IAW Air Force policy and law)
Qualifications
Select full-time opportunities may be available for fully-qualified candidates seeking to affiliate from the active duty Air Force. Full-time opportunities for this role vary by location. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma
- Completion of courses in mathematics, advanced English and computer applications is desirable for entry into this specialty.
- NEED ASVAB SCORE
- Knowledge of basic imagery interpretation principles, techniques and procedures for imagery exploitation
- Completion of Targeting Analyst Course
- Knowledge of the use of geospatial data
- Normal color vision
- Meet required depth perception standards.
- Successful completion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
