VI provides a comprehensive range of management, discovery, analysis, planning, design and technology solutions that can be deployed together or individually to meet the needs of our clients and their respective project(s). Large capital projects can be a complex and unique undertaking and only a team that understands various facility types can realistically address and respond to these specific needs.

We currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Intern - Industrial Designer to join the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist design team in the development of presentations (PowerPoint, Boards, Models)
  • Assist designers in development of reports
  • Assist with on-site surveys and analysis
  • Assist designers with the development of guidelines
  • Brainstorm ideas with supervisors and design team
  • Provide support for our design team
  • Assist in design on a variety of products, from research to sketching, ideating, rendering
  • Assist internal brainstorms and design reviews, no ideas are bad ideas
  • Design with the needs and wants of a specific audience in mind
  • Create drawings either by sketching or using software that visually depicts design ideas
  • Perform research on appearance, function, serviceability, budget, production cost/methods
  • Research cost of materials to fabricate and implement designs
  • Develop standards and guidelines
  • Take part in multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Travel to client site for meetings and site surveys
  • Collaborate with other designers and disciplines
  • Report daily to Design Director

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design

Qualifications:

  • Portfolio of past work skills
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Good spatial visualization
  • Solves problems effectively
  • Works well in a team
  • Excellent communication skills, ‘Can Do’ attitude
  • Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign )
  • Microsoft office software (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Skills in AutoCAD and Sketch Up
  • 3D CAD, Rhino and Fusion 360 knowledge (a plus)
  • Experience in Revit /BIM (a plus)
  • Bi-lingual – Spanish (a plus)
