Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
Responsible for accumulating and consolidating monthly financial results from Canadian subsidiaries.
Assist in managing month-end close for various general ledger functions including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and close reporting package.
Prepare opening balance sheets and provide adequate support for acquisitions and integrate acquisitions into the centralized accounting and finance processes.
Oversee certain general ledger transactions to ensure both proper accounting treatment and adherence to internal policies.
Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Leadership participation and influence with accounting system transition for our U.S. subsidiaries, as well as assist in the implementation of the new system for our Canadian subsidiaries.
Provide support to our external auditors in connection with the annual audit.
Analyze current process and create improvements within the Accounting function.
Help establish and maintain financial policies and procedures to support new business activities.
Support special projects and processes improvement initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience & Competencies:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required.
Mix of Public and Corporate experience preferred.
4 – 6 years of relevant experience including thorough working knowledge of GAAP and other applicable requirements and practices.
Relevant experience with international accounting and consolidations preferred.
High proficiency in excel.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must have strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, problem solve and make reasonable decisions based on company policies and practices.
Able to troubleshoot and solve problems proactively and independently.
Must be flexible and able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
