Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall operational, strategic and financial responsibility for PROPEL's Nonprofit staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. S/he will have a passion for developing deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations, and business plans.

In this role, you'll:
  • Support the growth and development of local high school students through tutoring, college prep, life skills, scholarship research and foster a belief in their potential
  • Partner with Board of Directors to further engage, motivate and expand participation in fundraising and develop PROPEL's future philanthropic strategic plan
  • Build relationships with PROPEL'S corporate partners, local communities, schools including current donors, prospective donors and other key internal and external partners.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to generate awareness of Propel through actively engaging and energize PROPEL's Nonprofit volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations throughout the year
  • Provide support and commitment to the Board of Directors and cultivate existing and future board member relationships
  • Create an inclusive team environment that fosters trust and a sense of empowerment and develop strong leadership capabilities by providing direction to all staff and volunteers
  • Building infrastructure and fundraising programs to support future programs ensuring growth and financial performance
  • Create and Reviews monthly financials and delivers a Directors report at board meetings and stakeholder events
  • Contribute to the overall strategic planning process of the organization Develop short- and long-term plans and programs including an annual operational plan with measurable goals in support of the strategic plan
  • Represent PROPEL in the community with a focus on the mission of the organization; maintain frequent contact and positive relationships with current and prospective donors, corporate executives, community leaders, and individuals.
  • Ability to engage reporters, facilitate interviews and appearances, develop organizational communications, and oversee social media campaigns
  • Establish, maintain and develop positive relationships with community leaders, elected officials, their staff, Board of Directors, donors, constituents, volunteers and the community at large

It's required that you'll:
  • Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or MBA (preferred)
  • Have a minimum of 10 years senior management experience with a proven track record of effectively leading scaling a performance- and outcomes-based nonprofit
  • Have proven leadership, team management, and coaching skills and a consistent track record of hiring, developing, and mentoring successful teams and leading through operational and organizational change
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management
