Our Automated Driving team is developing core algorithms in support of TRI’s automated driving activities. We are seeking someone hardworking and experienced in product management and customer relationship management. Ideally, the candidate is someone aspiring to direct Research to a tangible goal and transfer Technology into Toyota’s products, improving millions of lives.
Generate Product roadmaps and connect them to Research roadmaps
Develop requirements documents (PRDs) to clarify requirements and goals, clearly articulate feature definitions within business constraints and goals
Co-develop capability/technology offering Presentations, Documents, and Catalogs
Partner with Technical Program Managers (TPM) and System & Safety Engineering (SSE) teams, to create execution plans, and help SSE to develop the system requirement documents (SRDs)
Specify the performance metrics for tracking progress towards goals, work with engineering on collecting signal for metrics, and regularly report on progress
Define showcase requirements, how features and capabilities will be best demonstrated to Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Groups(OneTeam). Define scenarios for ADAS and AV capabilities
Ensure the delivery of products/projects to our customer Toyota Motor Corporation. Defining the most meaningful technology transfer mechanisms: via documents, tools, libraries, code, visual media and proof-of-concepts
Perform market studies/competitive analysis to lead customer-needs research, accident research, and technology landscaping, identifying product value propositions/market differentiation.
Own internal customer relationships:
TMC-Japan (Toyota Motor Corp) and TC (Toyota Connected in JP/US), TMNA (Toyota Motor North America), TRI-AD (Toyota Research Institute - Advanced Development), and related Toyota Groups, as well as internal driving teams and cross-functional activities in order to make our technology output transpire to real-world with continuous support.
Lead programs, projects, and practices employing TRI’s culture, strategy, policies and procedures.
International customer/subcontractor location travel to support product/project objectives
+5 years working as a Product Manager
An advantage to having Program Manager experience
B.S. or higher in Computer Science/Engineering
Software Engineering background with industry experience
Automotive industry depth with a technical understanding of embedded software, computer hardware, and control systems
Excellent written communication skills

Excellent presentation and small stage skills
Proficiency defining/leading complex product Roadmaps, writing PRDs, and adept in research-focused environment

Skilled Customer Networker - adept in finding a customer and making connections between customer plans and company roadmaps/research
