St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Director of Clinical Learning to join our Clinical Education team.
The Director of Clinical Learning is responsible for implementation and performance monitoring of clinical learning initiative and outcomes with a population health area. The particular role will serve our population health area including Boise, Mountain Home, McCall and Eagle including the ambulatory clinics.
Delivers clinical learning services including:
orientation/onboarding of clinical staff, including preceptor preparation, professional development of clinical staff, ongoing competency of staff, education initiatives (system, site/division and local), transition to practice programs, simulation, classes, coaching, mentoring, student placement and experience
Directs and guides staff in implementing clinical education playbooks and conducting assessments of playbook effectiveness
Communicates across the Population Health Area to provide update and insight on key initiatives to drive clinical learning initiatives
Performs clinical learning assessments to identify opportunities to clinical/operational variation across the continuum
Partners with Population Health Area leaders to support and implement initiatives with clinical learning expertise
Manages staff recruitment and onboarding
Develops work schedules for Clinical Learning team and adjusts resources appropriately to meet the needs of the Population Health Area
Leads weekly huddles with Clinical Learning team to align approaches and deploy resources to high risk areas
Develops and invests in the capabilities of team and develops leadership succession plans
Ensures implementation of prioritized initiatives, policies and procedures to meet the organization's goals and business objectives, including reporting progress and flagging challenges
Facilitates and informs Population Health Area of student assignments and learning objectives; identifies preceptorships and response to student adverse events
Supports external affairs, philanthropy, community coalitions, activities, events and relationships relevant to the organization
Participates in Communities of Practice to support development of best practices and to offer subject matter expertise
Assesses clinical educational needs on an individual and/or group basis in consultation with members of the patient care team and design the appropriate training and education approach
Other duties as assigned
Masters’ degree in Nursing or related field.
8 years’ of relevant experience
Current RN License
previous leadership experience, ANPD certified, an excellent communicator and strategic thinker
