Provide technical leadership on data platform architecture and design
Provide thought leadership on established and emerging data technologies
Define data standards and best practices for managing our data platform and solutions in AWS cloud
Seek opportunities to evolve the data platform by introducing new technologies and reducing tech debt to help maximize business impact and minimize business risk.
Collaborate with data engineering leaders to define the long-term data strategy to help the company leverage data as a competitive advantage
Partner with multi-functional teams to define data access, data security and data privacy guidelines
Mentor, and coach the junior team members
BS/MS (or equivalent experience) in CS/Data Engineering or related fields
10+ years experience with large-scale, distributed data pipelines, as well as data management, modeling, and storage
Experience building large scale data processing and analytical systems
Proven understanding of data providence, data quality, reusable frameworks and decision support systems design principles
Deep understanding of modern data engineering practices including scalability, distributed computing, AWS cloud infrastructure, containerization, etc.
Ability to operate in a multifaceted and fast-paced environment, building strategy while executing tactics, including hands-on contributions
Proven track record of collaboration with engineering leaders and business partners to drive impact
Hands-on experience using structured and unstructured data as well as key data technologies, including AWS, Presto, Hadoop, AirFlow, Hive, Kinesis, Spark, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
M.S. or above in Computer Science or a related field
