What you’ll be doing...
Your responsibility will be to position Verizon to win business across 22 U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) component agencies. An anticipated set of acquisitions will be completed over 2019-2020. DHS has major initiatives that are in process and you will help us to align with the customer. Many of these initiatives are based on DHS and components intent to transform its enterprise architecture and strengthen cyber security, which will result in opportunities for network, strategic services, security and mobility. Engaging and developing the DHS line of business to position Verizon for near term and long term success will open this highly valued line of business.
You will help our most important customers (DHS) move their business forward. As a trusted advisor, you’ll create value for us and our customers by solving their business problems. You’ll bring a consultative selling approach and become an expert for your customers and your peers by expertly packaging and tailoring our solutions to meet customer needs. Your role is critical to establish us as the premier business partner in your accounts.
Understanding and evaluating DHS specific business and customer trends to build strategic plans that drive sales.
Developing deep relationships with DHS while getting to know their businesses, Federal markets, and the challenges they face.
Crafting creative solutions to help DHS realize their goals.
Selling services and data solutions to help our customers connect better and become more efficient.
Creating winning outcomes for both us and our customers.
Demonstrating value so that customers choose our solution.
Growing our business while making customers happy.
What we’re looking for...
You enjoy digging deep to really understand the customer’s vision along with their unique situation and challenges. You like putting things together in new and creative ways to best solve the customer’s most pressing needs. You look for win-win solutions wherever you can and enjoy collaborating with others. You’re not afraid of analytics and like to talk hard data.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Ten or more years of Federal government sales and/or business development experience.
Three or more years of DHS experience and proven success.
Experience in account development and leadership.
Sold network and data solutions like cloud computing, security, professional services and call center solutions, and CPE offerings.
Ambition to meet or exceed challenging sales targets.
Developed large Federal government, multinational and Fortune 500 account relationships.
Strong communication skills to effectively position new ideas.
Persuaded and negotiated to create desired outcomes.
Balanced multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
