Best Western Plus Skagit Valley Inn & Convention Center & Market Street Bistro is seeking experienced Catering / Restaurant chef to join our team. Looking for someone who is self-motivated, with a great work ethic. Hours vary depending on the season.
4-5 years of experience cooking professionally as a sous chef or chef, either in a restaurant kitchen or catering.
Excellent cooking, baking and food presentation skills.
Must be extremely well organized in planning menus, assigning duties to staff and preparing food for multiple events per day.
Prepare quality food in large quantities & presenting it in an attractive manner.
Follow safe food storage and handling guidelines .
Create recipes that are standardized and accurate to guarantee conformity for each client.
Responsible for ordering product from various distributors and coordinating with sales staff to ensure product arrives on time and in the correct quantities.
Expected to be resourceful and creative to effectively handle problems related to food shortages, food preparation mistakes and extra guests.
