The Warehouse Receiving Associate will be responsible for receiving all goods purchased by the Garden Supply/Hardgoods Manager and the Outdoor Living Manager, and to coordinate the document flow of purchase orders, packing slips and/or bill of lading with management and/or accounting, working in a team environment with other Retail locations and Departments. To verify the correctness of SKU numbers and prices both in computer records and on merchandise received and/or displayed for retail sale. To keep merchandise Buyers aware of all known inventory stock-outs, shrinkage, waste, or other problems with the merchandise inventory that is normally received by the Receiving Clerk. To store, or arrange for storage, of all of the merchandise inventory in a safe, organized, and appropriate (to the inventory item) manner.
The ideal candidate will:
Verify counts, sizes, weights, and saleable condition of inventory as it is received.
Correctly match Homestead Gardens POs with vendor packing slips, or bills of lading or tariff.
Properly price inventory with the correct SKU and price.
Safely operate equipment such as conventional pallet jacks, powered pallet jacks, skid steers, forklifts, wheeled ladders and reach trucks.
Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays or special events.
