The Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) is the Navy and Marine Corps center for public health (PH) services to maximize readiness through force health protection (FHP) strategies and solutions for current and potential PH threats. NMCPHC provides leadership and expertise to ensure mission readiness in support of the National Military Strategy.
NMCPHC’s core scientific and technical capabilities and product lines are to conduct Health Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Analysis; Disease and Injury Prevention; and PH Consultation and Support for the benefit of active duty service members, retirees, and their families. This is carried out at the NMCPHC and its supported Medical/Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), shore-based installations, and its Operational Medical Assets and field activities.
Program Design and Evaluation Analyst
This position will support the design efforts regarding development of content, trainings, tools, and material that will facilitate readiness and resilience, prevent illness and injury, hasten recovery, and promote lifelong healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
High School diploma required.
Associate degree or higher in Business, Health or related field preferred.
Knowledge of regulations (SECNAV, OPNAV, MARCORPS, DoD and subordinate organizations) that pertain to matters within program responsibilities, laws pertaining to such, various internal and external studies, demographic information and evaluations of matter within program responsibilities preferred.
At least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience desktop publishing software.
Experience with Healthy Eating, Active Living, Tobacco Free Living, Reproductive and Sexual Health, Psychological and Emotional Well‐being, Injury and Violence Free living, Preventing Drug Abuse & Excessive Alcohol Use, Chronic Disease Prevention and Medical Home programs and services.
Professional knowledge in drafting of policy, regulations, instructions, standards, and guidelines related to HPW program issues.
Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams that assess risk, conduct needs assessments, analyze data, develop content for educational programs, draft policy guidance, and evaluate outcome measures.
Critically reviews, independently edits, formats and synthesizes various types of input (verbal, notes, emails, drafts) into a cohesive document or correspondence in accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual, Official Navy Message Traffic, and other format policies.
Ability to apply graphic elements of design and layout production to enhance presentation of documents, posters and other material.
Work with the government Department Technical Points of Contact/Project Leads to provide recurring and ad hoc reports based on program standards.
Develop and deliver clear and concise briefings and papers on complex strategic issues on short timelines to very senior audiences and to personnel with diverse backgrounds preferred.
Completes other projects as needed.
