The Reimbursement Analyst will be responsible for month end accounts receivable valuation and supporting analysis, plus reimbursement analysis, including cost reporting, reimbursement and regulatory analysis, and possibly some managed care contracting analysis. We will train the candidate in reimbursement; the ideal candidate should have an accounting/finance background, be proficient in Microsoft Office software, and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes on initiatives to increase Network reimbursement
Prepares supporting schedules used for the completion of interim and annual third party cost reports.
Establishes and maintains computerized third-party logs to be used in the preparation of interim/annual cost reports and monthly financial reviews.
Assists in the preparation of simulated cost reports to estimate the reimbursement impact of audit adjustments, amended filings, appeals, re-openings and mergers.
Interacts with external auditors on issues regarding cost reports and other regulatory filings
Makes an effort to increase Medicare and Medicaid regulatory knowledge and to stay abreast of changes
Assists with month-end Accounts Receivable valuation and related analysis of the balance sheet and net patient revenue
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Requires sitting for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours at a time). Frequently uses fingers for typing, data entry, etc. Frequent use of hands. Uses upper extremities to rarely lift up to 10 pounds. Rarely stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in accounting or financial analysis preferred. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong written and oral communication skills. We will train in reimbursement regulations and cost reporting.
Monday through Friday, day shift. Additional hours as needed, particularly from September through November (cost report deadlines).
