We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our group for a 10-week long summer internship program. A successful candidate will work with their mentor to build and validate gene signatures of the metabolic state of solid tumors. This work will leverage public data mining and transcriptional analysis skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from experienced bioinformaticians, collaborate with biologists, and learn about the complexity of drug development.
Research existing metabolic gene signatures in the scientific literature
Mine public data repositories, such a GEO, for metabolic datasets
Build and validate novel metabolic gene signatures with tumor data
Deliver and communicate analysis results to team
Qualifications & Experience
A strong foundation in biology
Experience in R (or similar language) and basic statistics
Currently enrolled in Undergraduate/Master’s PhD program in life sciences, bioinformatics, biostatistics, data science, or a similar field
Must be able to work full-time for the program duration
Excellent communication and presentation skills
