This position will conduct research coordination duties to support various research studies conducted by the TACHL center in the College of Nursing. Duties to include maintaining required regulatory documents, creating standard protocols, training and supervising junior assistants in protocols, performing physio- psycho- social assessments of subjects, collecting data and samples, and ensuring accurate data entry and sample log entries.
20% - Perform evaluations of adults following protocols, which include but not limited to: systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, anthropometric evaluations, i.e., height, weight, waist, and hip. Ability to set up and train subjects in use of smartphone apps, biofunction devices, medication trays, etc. Coordinate dispensation of investigational devices per PI and Co-I delegation. Train and supervise junior assistants on these procedures and perform quality control checks. - (Essential)
20% - Administration of various questionnaires and structured interviews assessing medication adherence, quality of life, attitudes towards mobile health and psychosocial characteristics per protocols. Being able to accurately enter data, locate, answer questions about, and analyze data as part of regular reporting to PI and Program Manager and on request. Coordinate consent process between investigators and subjects. Provide training to other staff on informed consent process and HIPAA. Audit patient charts ensuring patients consented properly. Train and supervise junior assistants on these procedures and perform quality control checks. - (Essential)
20% - Visit various hospital clinics, community health centers and homes for recruitment/ screening/ monitoring of subjects. Phone calls for the recruitment, scheduling, and retention of subjects also for adherence issues and motivation. - (Essential)
15% - Maintains required regulatory documents and eIRB protocols and amendments. Prepare and/or submit reports to the IRB. Assist in creating standard study protocols based on the activities described in grant document. Work with program manager and PI to determine effective recruitment strategy and implement strategy. Monitor progress of recruitment, data collection, subject adherence, etc., and make adjustments as needed. Maintain accurate study registration. Report same to Program Manager and PI. - (Essential)
15% - Collection, processing, logging, and storage of data. Maintain accurate inventories of assets related to studies, including issuing and retrieving assets to/from subjects and monitoring telephone service for assets. Ensure adequate materials are available for upcoming procedures and request purchases as needed. Train and supervise junior assistants on these procedures and perform quality control checks. - (Essential)
10% - Performing other duties related to the conduct of the research projects as directed including preparing data for publications, reviewing abstracts for conference presentations and writing methods of study protocols for publication. - (Essential)
Preferred Experience & Additional Skills:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or related-field preferred.
- Experience in use of Epic preferred
- Experience handling human derived biological fluids preferred.
- Experience with the general public providing medical care and/or health education preferred.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft office suite of programs required.
- Familiar with medical terminology preferred.
- Ability to multitask.

- Experience compiling data for scientific publication preferred.
- The position will require recruitment, adherence monitoring and scheduling subjects by phone, including night and weekend hours.
- Good driving record and ability to travel to off campus clinics and subject's homes as needed.
- Must be able to retrieve lightweight equipment stored on the floor. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20lbs.
A high school diploma and two years relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
