The Business Intelligence/Data Analyst will be responsible for leveraging platform and audience data to deliver actionable insight that impacts daily strategic business decisions, product changes, pricing strategy, competitive analysis and user behavioral analysis. Costar/Loopnet aspires to have a culture of data-driven decision-making and will demand business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable.
The analyst will be responsible for data mining and A/B testing against different hypotheses which impact different Key Performance Indicators. The Data Analyst should be highly skilled in working with SQL databases, Google Analytics, Google Big Query, Excel and Tableau and/or Power BI. The role requires a well-developed business acumen and the ability to ask the required questions, and based on the data, suggest options to increase visitor traffic, on site activity, conversions and revenue. Role will includes responsibilities such as:
Help design, implement, and support infrastructure providing access to large and growing datasets
Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of data sources using SQL, Google Big Query and Google Cloud Platform
Interface with business customers to gather requirements and implement new tracking and maintain and improve existing tracking
As a team member, own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context (tracking was working pre-release, but counts are now off ….. why? Traffic is up or down – is this real or is tracking off etc.)
Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business.
Respond to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
Learn and understand a broad range of Costar/Loopnet’s data resources and know when, how, and which to use and which not to use.
Help answer challenging business questions for implementation through technology ultimately delivered to Marketing, Finance, Product Design, Product Management and Upper Management
Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or related discipline
2-6 + years’ experience as a data analyst, business analyst, data scientist or similar job function, with beginning machine learning a plus
Experience in MS SQL, MS SQL Business Intelligence stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), Excel, relational databases and database concepts required
Ability to develop useful analytical tools and effectively communicate complex findings and ideas in plain language (in writing, verbally and visually).
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to provide regular status updates proactively
Experience and applied knowledge of PowerBI, Tableau, or any other data visualization tool
