Jacobs is currently seeking a professional MS Sharepoint Administrator that will successfully support and maintain a stable system environment for the NSS Intranet and other Sharepoint system(s) and related components.
The ideal candidate would also have the knowledge and ability to maintain NSS IT system databases, when required. This would include the continuous and active assessments, implementation and recommendations of new capabilities for system health, function and continuity. Communications, back-end databases & servers, applications and end-user support. Additional duties would include ensuring the stable operation of systems, seamless flow of information and proper functioning of end-points throughout the organizations operations as an overall Systems Administrator. Providing IT Support across corporate campuses. Assisting in the maintaining and planning, standards and documentation in conjunction with the NSS IT Director & Manager.
Manage, maintain and support the Sharepoint Farm, Site-Collections and Customers
Deploy or install hardware and software, performs troubleshooting and user assistance.
Maintain operating systems and configuration of computer systems and network devices.
Manage file servers, email servers, directory servers, workstations, storage devices
Ability to provide database administration as a back-up to NSS IT DBA
Manages servers and control/monitor user access to devices, applications, and Storage Area Networks.
Adds, deletes, and or modifies user access to network services, manages account profiles, permissions, and access to resources.
Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning.
Create and Maintain system backups and perform recoveries when needed or scheduled.
Candidate must be a US citizen in order to obtain a security clearance that requires citizenship.
Typically has an AS degree in a computer or system science discipline and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience with Oracle database administration. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement. Should have a general understanding of relational database concepts and networking concepts, specifically in a client/server architecture in a SQL *Net TCP/IP environment. Must have experience in various backup and recovery scenarios, including archiving, import/export, etc. Proficiency with performance tuning of Oracle database and supporting mission critical production systems is essential.

- Demonstrated on-the-job experience in administration in an enterprise Windows AD environment.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with systems infrastructure support for servers, bare-metal and virtualized.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience in systems maintenance, tuning, backup and recovery modeling and planning.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience in database using SQL Server (2008 and/or 2014) or Oracle.
- Ability to be stationed at a main office with the ability to travel to sites within the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area.
- Experience working within an IT support team and ability to contribute and collaborate in daily support activity
- Willingness to travel to multiple campuses within the Northern VA, MD and DC Metro area.
Active clearance of Secret or TS SCI
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
Equipment and Machines
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
