The preferred candidate will have a technical background in Audio Visual Technologies and good customer skills. Candidates must have strong leadership and extensive audio background. Related experience in similar industries will be considered.
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Act as primary point of contact for customer while onsite
Responsible to sign for/ accept equipment and inventory
Designate assigned tasks to crew/ helpers, based on skill set and experience, to meet deadlines
Mentor less-experienced technicians, ensuring they meet our techniques and standards
Quality control and inspection of completed work
Fully commission AV systems including Audio DSP's, configuration and setup of video endpoints, VoIP, etc.
Works with remote programmer to load and test control system software
Complete final testing, informal training to customer, and signoff
Complete documentation to include Redline drawings, commissioning document, signoff sheets, etc.
Perform field engineering, when required - able to develop workarounds and solutions to obstacles which arise onsite
Communicate with Installation Manager, Project Manager, and Solutions Architect, to work through technical problems, coordinate RMA's, change order, etc.
Provide support to other regions when required, not limited to local geography
Complete redlines and commissioning documentation at the completion of each project
Must possess a valid Driver's License; have and continue to maintain a safe driving record.
Must have Audio DSP programming experience, such as Polycom, BiAmp, ClearOne, or others.
Solid experience in Commercial Audio Visual equipment installations, including projectors, screens, displays, wiring, cabling, computer controls, rack-building.
Must be able to use hand tools & test equipment; understand how to solder and crimp connections; lift <100 lbs.
Hands on experience with major brands of VTC to include Polycom, Tandberg and LifeSize
Basic understanding of input and outputs of each device for installation purposes
Basic understanding of configuration of each system to include Network Connectivity along with basic understanding of Remote Controls of each device.
Ability to trouble-shoot basic audio, video, and control system problems; and formalized certifications on major bands of audio visual systems and components.
Ability to read and understand AV Flow Diagrams produced by engineering in order to wire, terminate and build AV systems in the field.
Industry certifications - CTS and/or AMX, Crestron or Extron certification.
Basic understanding of IP networks is a plus.
