We are seeking high-performing individuals motivated by challenge and ready to play a significant role in our Launch division scaling our fast-growing company.
In this role, you will report to the Corporate Controller in Herndon,VA and will support the division functions in the Seattle office in which our Launch division resides.
You will manage all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures for the Spaceflight team. Your additional responsibilities will also include financial risk management and the below:
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
Support the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and including variance reporting
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance, including carve-out functions
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Support payroll processing as necessary
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Respond to corporate CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his financial needs.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Comply with government and company-wide audits.
Additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
10+ years of hands-on accounting managerial experience with at least 3 years of experience serving as a Controller or in a top-level Accounting position.
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skill
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
15+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Start-Up Experience a plus!
