Westat is seeking a Research Data Manager to plan and manage data processing operations for large survey research projects.
- Write technical specifications for systems, programs, and data files, manage software testing and data review, and prepare and document file sets for delivery to our clients.
- You would be expected to become an expert on programmed survey instruments, the collected data and metadata for a variety of studies and the optimal application of a variety of methods for post-collection processing of survey data.
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the social sciences or information systems with 8 years of experience is required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
To be successful in this role you must possess an analytic mind, excellent oral and written communication, programming aptitude or experience, detail orientation, a strong interest in social science research, experience managing large databases, and a highly organized approach to work. Basic knowledge of SQL and SAS are desirable.
